2021.12.03 12:35 nddrbrnr Catalytic converter…
Would a bad exhaust/catalytic cause a problem with acceleration?
I drive, I’m accelerating, suddenly the rpms go with the pedal but acceleration is not actually occurring then I let of the gas and it seems to kinda correct and I’m able to get to the speed I want to get to.
Only happened once after letting the truck warm up in cold temps for a bit. Was there exhaust like backed up so to speak due to the bad exhaust/catalytic?

2021.12.03 12:35 Wigglewormsmom Desperate for nap and night advice!
My 5 mo won’t sleep. He doesn’t want to go down for naps unless he’s laying against me and then wakes and cries the moment we place him in the crib. In the evenings we do our bedtime routine: bath at 6:30, nurse at 7, book, in crib by 7:30… this was working for a while and now not at all. He keeps rolling onto his stomach in his sleep and wakes screaming/crying. We flip him, soothe him back to sleep by patting his back. He sleeps for maybe 10 minutes and then flips over again and the crying and screaming begins again. Only when we place him between us in our bed will he sleep. But then again wakes when we move him to the crib. Long story short we’re going out of our minds 😵💫 advice GREATLY welcome!!!

2021.12.03 12:35 FilterJoe Combining running with intermittent fasting: Tips and Tricks
tldr; You can do normal OMAD with short runs and both lose weight and have enjoyable runs. But it's good to load up and eat at least 2 meals the day before long (9+ miles) runs and eat snacks during the run.
Would love to see comments from others who do OMAD in conjunction with trail running.
By coincidence, I started both trail running and OMAD (One Meal A Day - all eating in a 1-2 hour period each day) about 1.5 years ago. At first they worked fine together as I was not running all that far, and I would hike part of the trail runs. But as my body continued to adapt and I ran uphill more, I ran faster and further. Once I got to 10k (6.2 miles), I was forced to pay close attention to timing of both eating and running.
I'm a male in my mid 50s. In a typical week, I run 2-3 5k runs and a longer 10k-20k run on Saturday, with brisk walking on most of the off days. My pace on trails with changing elevation is 8-9.5 minutes/mile for distances below 10k, 10-11 minutes/mile for 10-20k. Longest run: 22.5k (366 meter elevation gain) in 2.5 hours. Your pace/distances will be different, so you'll have to adjust the times/distances below to better suit your own situation.
What I have found is:
* OMAD and short runs (less than 6k) go together easily. To maximize weight loss, it helps to schedule the run just before you eat, as it means you fasted for 22 hours before the run. In my case, I run shortly after waking up in the morning. I then eat my one large meal of the day by mid morning. I read in a couple place that exercising before you eat can raise your metabolism for the rest of the day, so OMAD and short runs work particularly well together if you follow the run-then-eat AM schedule.
* Intermediate length runs (7-15k, 40-90 minutes) are not quite as easy but your body will adapt. Bring water on your run. Fasting for less than 15 hours prior to the run can make it easier. Otherwise, if you haven't eaten for 20 hours, you may occasionally find yourself running out of energy or feeling lightheaded towards the end of your run.
* Bring snacks with you on intermediate or long runs. Can be just-in-case for your intermediate run, but it's probably going to be a requirement to eat during longer runs. It can help if your snacks double as electrolytes to some extent. My favorite snack is dried mango slices but I'm starting to experiment with other types of snacks for the really long runs.
* Longer runs (9+ miles? 90+ minutes?) burn way more calories and therefore require some changes in your OMAD routine. There may be several ways to do it, but my way is to eat 2 big meals the day before a big run (3000-5000 calories), with at least one of these meals very heavy on carbs, especially carbs from vegetables. I also snack at least a little during the long runs. It's nice to time things so that within a couple hours after your big run, it's (close to) your normal time to do your OMAD meal so you can get back on track for your regular OMAD time slot during the following few days.
I have done some of my longest runs in the past month, and I had a week where I did 2 long runs within 6 days of each other (the second was the day after Thanksgiving) - 30 miles altogether in a 7 day span which was the most I've run in a week. I gained several pounds that week as I was really careful to load up on calories before first run, and then there was Thanksgiving just before the second long run. Since then I've laid off running a bit for my aching feet to recover. I did a 40 hour fast a couple days after Thanksgiving and despite doing only one run since then, I lost all the weight I picked up during the 7 day/30 mile span.
Now that I know what I'm doing with food, the big constraint on my runs is leg fatigue. Running out of energy is rarely an issue any more - only if I eat too little the day before a run of two or more hours.
I'm pretty new to runs higher than 20k and still trying to figure out how to make intermittent fasting work with the huge eating required for longer runs. For those of you trail runners who also do intermittent fasting - would love to hear of your experiences, especially for longer runs.
